Join Us at the Cambridge Champagne Fringe Festival – Sunday 27th July
We’re excited to be joining our friend Brian Burke at this year’s Cambridge Champagne Fringe Festival, taking place at Letchworth Rugby Club. On Sunday morning from 10:30am, members of Cambridge Comhaltas will be part of the Big Session, bringing traditional music to this special celebration of folk and acoustic music.
The Cambridge Champagne Fringe Festival 2025 was born from a love of the original Cambridge Folk Festival, particularly after this year’s official festival was cancelled during what would have been its 60th anniversary. Determined to keep the spirit alive, organisers have come together to create a vibrant, grassroots event that honours the values of founder Ken Woollard.
This free, three-day festival (Friday 25th – Sunday 27th July) features nearly 30 high-quality folk and acoustic acts, with all proceeds from donations going to Garden House Hospice and the Musicians’ Fund. The venue offers camping, RV facilities, food, a bar, and affordable prices — creating a warm and welcoming environment for everyone.
Key Details for Sunday:
The Big Session with Brian Burke, Cambridge Comhaltas, and the Wintringham Pipers kicks off at 10:30am.
A full day of live music follows, including Perseus Morgan, The Medlars, Boxwood Chessmen, The Devines, Skimmington Ride, and a rousing finale with The Parting Glass and The Jars.
Entry is free, but donations are encouraged to support the hospice and musicians.
Bring a rug or folding chair, soak up the atmosphere, and enjoy a weekend of music that carries on the true spirit of Cambridge Folk Festival.
