St. Patrick’s Celebrations: Tunes, Traditions, and Radio Waves!

posted in: Uncategorized | 0

We’ve had a fantastic start to St. Patrick’s week here at the branch! Our celebrations kicked off with a burst of energy as we took our tunes, songs, and dancing to the streets of Cambridge this morning. It was wonderful to see so many smiling faces and feel the community spirit alive and well.

Spreading Joy at Langdon House

After our morning on the streets, we spent a beautiful afternoon at Langdon House Care Home. It was a privilege to entertain the residents with some lively music and traditional Irish dancing.

A real highlight of the day was Roger, who led a heartwarming singalong of some all-time favorites. The whole room joined in for:

  • The Black Velvet Band

  • Cockles and Mussels (Molly Malone)

  • The Wild Rover

  • Tell Me Ma

Seeing the residents tap along and sing their hearts out made it a truly fabulous day for everyone involved.

Tune In: We’re on the Radio!

The music doesn’t stop here. We are thrilled to share that we were recorded and interviewed for a special St. Patrick’s Day broadcast on BBC Radio Cambridgeshire! Be sure to tune in on Tuesday morning to catch our segment. We’ll be sharing some of our favorite tunes and chatting about what the branch has been up to.

It’s been a brilliant start to the festivities, and we can’t wait to keep the celebrations going. Happy St. Patrick’s week to you all!
